Delvaux & Co · Wood & Furniture Repair Salve
It's like lip balm for your furniture.
Wood finish dries out the way skin does. Sun, central heating and years of mugs, cloths and cleaning sprays leave it dull, ringed and scratched. One coat of beeswax and hemp oil feeds the finish, buffs off dry, and the depth and colour you thought was gone comes back with it.

Before you apply
Made for stained or finished real wood, including real-wood veneer, and oiled or waxed wood. Not for painted furniture, laminate, printed wood-look surfaces or raw unfinished wood.
Always test on the underside of a leaf or the back of a leg first — it takes 30 seconds. Whatever the wood, the salve never touches the colour: it feeds the finish, and the finish brings its own colour back.
Safe around pets and children once buffed in (about 10 minutes). No solvent smell — just a faint beeswax scent that fades before dinner.

The real problem
Your furniture isn't dated. Its finish is just starving.
Swipe to read all three
Water rings are a thirsty finish, not a stain
A white ring is moisture trapped in a finish that had dried out enough to let it in. Feed the finish and it lets the moisture back out — the ring fades as the surface rehydrates. That's why the mayo trick half-works: it's fat. It just never sets, so it goes rancid and the ring comes back.
Colour and grain come back on their own
The dull, grey, sun-bleached patches aren't colour that's gone. It's a parched finish scattering light instead of reflecting it. As the salve drinks in, the surface goes smooth, and the depth and grain underneath start showing through again — the same tone it always was.
Fed first. Sealed after.
The oils replenish the dried finish first. Then the beeswax leaves a thin, breathable protective layer after you buff away the excess, so splashes, hot mugs and daily wipe-downs stop stripping what you just put back. No coloured stain. No plastic film. No weekly spray-and-shine routine.
Why it works when polish doesn't
Polish sits on top. A salve goes in.
Spray polish coats the surface with silicone: a week of shine, then it dries the finish out further and the next ring goes straight in. Delvaux & Co is beeswax and hemp oil — it soaks into the finish, feeds it and seals it from the inside.

What happens in the first 10 minutes
1It cleans
Lifts years of old polish, grease and grime out of the finish as you work it in.
2It conditions
Hemp oil and vitamin E soak into the dried finish. Rings release, dull patches go deep again.
3It seals
Beeswax sets into a breathable barrier against mugs, splashes and sunlight.
How it works
The ten-minute ritual.
No sanding. No stripping. No drying tent in the dining room. Three steps and a soft cloth.
Swipe through the steps
1. Wipe it clean
A quick pass with the included wipe lifts dust and residue. If you've tried other products on this piece — polish, oils, home remedies — wipe it down properly so the salve goes into the finish, not into what's sitting on it. 1 min.
2. Rub it in
Work a small amount into the wood in circles with the brush or a soft cloth. You'll see the colour deepen as the finish drinks it in — rings and dull patches usually drink first. A little covers more furniture than you think. 3 min.
3. Buff it back
Let it settle 5 minutes, then buff with a dry cloth until the haze lifts and the glow comes up. That's it. No waiting overnight, no second product, no smell hanging around before dinner. 2 min.
Nervous about an heirloom? Do the whole ritual on the underside of one leaf or the back of one leg first. It's the same honest test we'd tell you to run on anything.
If you've tried everything
Here's why none of it held.
Most fixes do one of three things. Coat the damage. Colour the damage. Or gamble on it. None of them treat the finish itself.

The last column is the one the burned buyer checks first. Mayo darkened the ring. The iron blistered the varnish. The marker was the wrong walnut. Delvaux & Co has no dye to mismatch, no solvent to strip, and no coating to peel. The worst case is nothing happens.
Find your wood fit
Is Delvaux & Co right for your furniture?
We'd rather lose the sale than have this jar sit in the cabinet next to the other five that didn't work. Thirty seconds of honesty first.
✓This IS for you if…
✓You have white water rings or heat marks from cups, glasses or hot dishes
✓Your table has scratches, scuffs or fork marks from years of actual living
✓The wood looks dull, dry or faded and no amount of cleaning fixes it
✓Sun has bleached one side of a piece near the window
✓There's a tablecloth on your table for reasons that have nothing to do with liking tablecloths
✓You inherited a piece that's been in a garage or attic and looks grey and tired
✓You want to avoid a refinishing quote that costs more than the furniture did
✓Your finish is still intact — worn and thirsty, but there
✕This is NOT for you if…
✕The finish is fully stripped or the wood is raw and unfinished
✕Your furniture is painted — the salve feeds a wood finish, it cannot feed paint
✕It's laminate or a printed wood-look surface that can't absorb
✕There are deep gouges with missing wood — that's a fill-and-repair job first, then the salve
✕Dark black rings have soaked into the wood itself — that's moisture in the wood, not the finish, and we'd rather tell you now than take your money
✕You want to change the colour of the piece

The proof is in the jar
The refinishing quote was £500–900. This is £35.
Start with the spot that bothers you most. The ring you've been hiding under the fruit bowl. The scratched-up end where the kids sit. The dresser that came out of your mother's garage looking grey. Rub in a small amount, let the finish drink it in, then buff away the excess. Then take the tablecloth off and decide for yourself.

Cold-pressed hemp oilSinks into the dried finish, releases rings, brings depth back.

The wrong-wood guarantee
Try it on one corner. You have 30 days.
Start with the piece you've been hiding. If it doesn't work on your furniture, email us a photo within 30 days of delivery and we refund every penny. Keep the jar. Your 30 days begin when the parcel arrives, not when you order.
It starts with the table. Then you look around the room.
The same salve feeds leather the way it feeds wood: the cracked arms of the sofa, the grey seat where the dog sleeps, the car seats. Most people order the second jar for the sofa.
Usually, yes — white marks are moisture trapped in a dried-out finish, and they fade as the finish rehydrates. Most go in one coat; a stubborn older ring may need a second coat a few days later.
What about dark rings?
Dark or black rings mean the moisture has gone through the finish into the wood itself. The salve will soften and blend them, but it can't pull moisture out of the wood. We'd rather tell you that now than take your money.
I tried mayo / the iron / toothpaste and it half-worked, then came back. Why would this be different?
Mayo is fat: it feeds the finish, which is why it half-works, but it never sets, so it goes rancid and the ring comes back. The iron forces moisture out with heat and blisters the varnish if you're a second too slow. The salve feeds the finish the same way, then the beeswax sets dry on top so it stays fixed.
Can it make my furniture worse? Everything else I tried did.
No. There's no dye to mismatch, no solvent to strip the finish, no coating to peel. The worst case on a piece it can't help is that nothing happens. That's why we can offer the wrong-wood guarantee.
Will it hide scratches?
Surface scratches and scuffs in the finish: they fill and stop catching the light, so they mostly disappear. Deep gouges into the wood: they blend and darken but the wood won't grow back — fill those first, then use the salve over the top.
Will it change the colour of my furniture?
No — it's not a stain. It brings back the colour and depth the finish already had. Very pale, dry woods can look half a shade richer once fed, the way a dry stone looks darker when it's wet. Test the underside of a leaf first.
My table is sun-faded on one side. Will this even it out?
If the fade is in the finish (dull, chalky, grey), yes — feeding the finish brings the depth back and the two sides even out. If the sun has bleached the pigment out of the wood itself over many years, it will improve but may not fully match.
Is it safe on antiques and heirlooms?
Yes — beeswax and plant oils are what these pieces were finished with when they were made. Run the full ritual on the back of one leg first, as you'd do with anything on an heirloom.
Does it work on veneer?
Real-wood veneer with a finish on it: yes, exactly like solid wood. Printed wood-look laminate or foil: no — there's no finish to feed and nothing absorbs.
Will it leave my table sticky or smelly before dinner?
No. Once buffed it's dry to the touch with a soft natural sheen. Tacky means you used too much — buff a little longer. The faint beeswax scent is gone within the hour.
I already used Pledge / Old English / Restor-a-Finish on this piece. Will it still work?
Yes, as long as you wipe the old product off first — the salve needs to reach the finish, not sit on a layer of silicone. Use the included wipe, let it dry, then start.
How long does it last?
3–6 months on a dining table used every day, longer on sideboards and doors. A light top-up twice a year keeps it looking new. No weekly routine.
Can I use the same jar on my cabinets, floors and leather?
Yes. One formula, every finished wood surface and every finished leather surface. A little goes a long way — one jar does a table and six chairs with plenty left over.
How long is delivery?
Free tracked delivery. Your order ships within 1–2 days and arrives in 7–8 working days, with a tracking link by email as soon as it's dispatched.
And if it doesn't work on mine?
Email us within 30 days of delivery with a photo and we refund you in full. Keep the jar.
Our story
Why we made this
"Every product on the shelf was full of silicones and things I couldn't pronounce. And none of them actually worked."
It started with a dining table. A white ring from one forgotten glass, dead centre, three years under a tablecloth. The refinishing quote was more than the table. So we did what everyone does: five products from the hardware shop, a scratch marker in the wrong shade of walnut, a "restorer" that smelled like a garage, and a drawer full of internet advice about mayonnaise and hot irons. Two made it shinier for a week. One made it worse.
The answer was in an old cabinet-maker's workshop: beeswax, plant oils and patience. A wood finish is like skin. You don't coat it, you feed it. We spent two years turning that into something that goes on like lip balm and buffs off dry — no silicones, no synthetic polymers, nothing that strips the finish and makes it worse next year.
The result is Delvaux & Co. One jar, every wood surface, every leather surface in the house. A little goes a long way. Your furniture earned its marks. It just needs feeding.
